Grayson and Yummy Cereal?

At Grayson's appointment this week we got the go ahead to start cereal so last night we gave it a try.  Lets just say he didn't like it or didn't know what to do.  You will see how he did on the video.  Enjoy!

After trying by spoon for a bit we gave it to him in his bottle and I am not sure if he liked it because he didn't finish his bottle.  We will try again tonight.  It was fun doing something new with Grayson.
Happy Saturday!

As a side note:  one year ago today Chad and I found out that we were pregnant with Grayson.  What a blessing the past year has been for our family!

So Us Your Life - Master Bedroom

So today I am actually on time with doing Show Us Your Life - Master Bedroom at Kelly's Korner.  If you didn't see my living room check it out here

I love our Master Bedroom and right now it is rearranged differently then we normally have it, but when the pack n play was in our room it was less crowded the way we have it now.
A few Highlights of our Master Bedroom:
1.  The dressers and night stands Chad had before we got married and I like the dark tones in them.
2.  The covered headboard was designed by Chad and I and M Grace made it for us.  Before this bed we had a queen bed and we upgraded about two years ago to a king bed and I didn't want to purchase new dressers or night stands so this was a great option for us!  I love it!
3.  Our complete bedding and curtains were designed by Chad and I with the help of M Grace and we have had the same bedding for about three years.  What I love about our bedding is the dark brown pillows have a different design on the back and the quilt at the end of the bed also has a different design.
4.  The rug is from Target
5.  The lamps are from Hobby Lobby
I hope you enjoy viewing our Master Bedroom~

Don't forget to visit the other Master Bedrooms at Kelly's Korner!
Have a great weekend!

Love Me Some Fingers

Lately this is where you will find Grayson's hands!  It is funny when I change his clothes he wants them in his mouth, when he is drinking a bottle or nursing he wants to put his hands in his mouth, and when he is playing his hands are in his mouth.  So pictures lately have been of Grayson with his hands in his mouth!

Maybe we are getting some teeth!

4th Month Appointment

Grayson had his 4 Month Appointment this morning and Mommy had to go by herself.  I was nervous because I knew he had to get shots and I hate when he cries.  It makes me so SAD.

Grayson weighed 13 pounds 7 ounces and is 24 inches in length.
I really thought that he would weigh more, but he is still our little peanut.  Yes he did cry!  It was horrible, but I did have a bottle ready for him after the shots and it made it all better.  I did learn a few things this morning, one don't make his appointment during his nap time.  Second put Grayson in loose fitting clothes that won't rub on his skin.  I am glad that I had a second outfit in his bag that was perfect for him to wear!  After his appointment I dropped him off at daycare and he had a sad day!  I called after lunch and he was fussy, had not napped, had a low grade fever, and cried through his bottle so I immediately went and got him.  Once we got home I rocked him to sleep and he has been sleeping for the past two hours.
I hope he feels better tomorrow as I have work appointments and he has to be at daycare almost all day.  Love my little guy to pieces and I hate to see him hurting!
Have a great Wednesday night!

Wordless Wednesday

Happy Wednesday
Love Grayson

Play Time with Grayson

Play Time with Grayson is one of my favorite things!  I love watching him explore the toys in front of his eyes, but the best part is watching him explore his hands.  He will just stare at them, look at them, and put them in his mouth.  If I am holding him he will grab my hands and hold them and try to put my hands in his mouth.  It is so cute watching him explore the world around him.  It makes me stop and think what must he be thinking?  What does he think of the world around him?  Often life gets so busy that I know I don't stop and appreciate it, but often Grayson reminds me of these moments.  Seeing the world through my baby's eyes is AMAZING and I appreciate all that is around me.  So today stop and take pleasure in the small things.
Happy Monday!

Happy 4 Months

This past Friday was Grayson's 4th Month Birthday.  I didn't get a chance to post because I was too tired and second our Internet at home was not working.  I did manage to get his pictures taken with his monkey and on his Grayson chair.  I can't believe Grayson is already 4 months old.  It has gone by too FAST!  I often wish I could push PAUSE and keep us in this moment, but then I can't wait to experience many more firsts with Grayson.

So what have you been up to?
  • Grayson you weighed 10 pounds 10 ounces at his last appointment in July, we go to the doctor next week and I think that you will weigh 13 pounds or more.
  • Grayson you drink 5 ounce bottles every 3 hours
  • Our naps and bedtime have been a challenge since starting daycare in late August.  If you are home you take a good 2 hour nap in the morning and a good 1 to 2 hour nap in the afternoon.  Then you usually take a one hour nap late in the afternoon before our bedtime routine.
  • For bedtime you usually go to bed for the night around 8 or 9 PM.  You almost sleep through the night.  Around 2 or 3AM we have to go in a rock you or pat your back to go back to sleep.  But on the days you go to daycare you don't sleep through the night.  You are up a lot catching up on eating.  Those nights are tough on mommy!
  • We have had one good sleep day at daycare where you slept for over an hour in the swing.
  • You are sleeping wonderful in your crib.  All naps are in your crib.  The wedge we put under your mattress has helped so much.  If mommy would put you back in after you wake up in the middle of the night you would sleep all night.  When mommy was in Los Angeles you slept in your crib both nights until 5AM for daddy.

  • You are wearing size 1 diapers and some of your 0-3 month clothes still fit, but the 3 month clothes fit you the best.
  • You are getting so strong!  When we do tummy time your head is up and you are looking around.
  • On your last month post you were not breastfeeding well, but this month you are doing great.  You breastfeed in the morning before daycare and in the evening.  During the day you get bottles at daycare and when we are out of the house on the weekends mommy gives you bottles too.  I was nervous after being away from you for two nights that you would not breastfeed when I got home, but you did wonderful when I got home!
  • You smile all the time!

  • You laugh when mommy kisss on your neck or when anyone plays with you.  It is so cute to hear your laugh!
  • You are so curious of your hands and your feet.  You love having your hands in your mouth and you are trying to put your toes in your mouth too.
  • You love all your toys.  Your Baby Einstein Baby Mat is your favorite.  You move all around it.  Last week when Mommy was in LA you fell asleep playing.
  • You still love Baby Einstein Videos and Mommy just started playing Praise Baby in your room at night when you are sleeping.
  • You love baths, but when we get you dressed you have no patience.
  • You talk back at us when we talk to you.  I think a couple of times you have said Mama.
  • Mommy went on her 1st Business Trip to Los Angeles and you spent two nights at home with your daddy and the Ramseys.  You did great, but Mommy sure did miss you.
  • You love being outside and we just got your new Bob Stroller and you love sitting in it like a big boy!
  • If you are feed, diaper is clean, and you are a well rested baby you are a VERY HAPPY baby!
  • I think you are close to rolling over and I can't wait to see you do this trick.

Mommy and Daddy are blessed every day with your happy smiles and we often think what did we do before Grayson.  You have filled our hearts with joy!

Love Mommy!

Mommy's 1st Trip Away

So I am in Los Angeles until Friday for work and with that it is my 1st trip away from Grayson.  My heart hurts and I miss him so much.  I try not to think about it too much because if I do I cry.  He is in GREAT hands with Chad and our good friends Mary and Greg.  I left this morning at 7AM central time and arrived in LA at 11:40AM pacific time.  I am extremely tired and looking forward to going to sleep.  I just have to pump one more time before going to bed.  Traveling and Breastfeeding/Pumping is not fun!  I spoke with Mary and Chad after work and Grayson is doing great!  He is eating, sleeping, and playing.  I miss him so much!  I can't wait for Friday when I am back home.  Until then I will enjoy sleeping through the night for the next two nights and the weather is PERFECT here!  Love it!

Love and Miss my Little Guy!
I took this picture at church on Sunday!

It is a HAPPY Monday!

Can you believe it today Grayson is 17 Weeks Old and this Friday he will be 4 Months Old.  Wow the past 4 Months have gone by so FAST!

Friday I will have a 4 Month Post Up!

Grayson loves his hands in his mouth!

Big News:
Today at Daycare Grayson slept for an hour and half.  We are so happy!  He fell asleep in the swing and since he doesn't sleep well there they just let him sleep.  Now if we could get him to sleep in his crib at Daycare!

Grayson today after Daycare!
My sweet Baby G!

Fun Pictures Today With G!

Update on Sleeping in his Crib at Night:
This is going well!  He starts out in his crib, but when he wakes to eat I nurse him and I end up keeping him in our room.  I just need to start putting him back in his room, but I am so tired and all I want to do is go back to sleep.  He is napping well in his crib too!  I still swaddle him for his naps and bedtime.  I also place a receiving blanket that is rolled up on his side.  I think he likes sleeping on his side and I also think that he thinks that he is still be held when the blanket is on the side of him.  If it is not there he moves a lot and wakes up.  So for now this is what is working and I am happy.  We figured out the Angelcare system and all is working out well.  I have no worries this week when he is home being carried for by the Ramsey's.  I will MISS HIM SO MUCH!  I don't even want to think about it!  Thank you to all the mommy support over the past week.  It is wonderful to have such loving blog readers.  I want to give each of you a BIG HUG!

Fisher Friday

Over the past several years we spend our Friday nights with the Fisher's.  We first go out to dinner and then after dinner we play cards and have brownies.  Since we have had Grayson it is hard to play cards because he is young and we spend time playing with him instead.  Tonight I took a few fun pictures of the girls and Grayson with my iPhone with the Hipstamatic app that I just purchased.  They just love Grayson!  The Fisher girls always want to read to him, watch Baby Einstein with him, play with him, and love on him every time they see him.  They are so excited to see him every Friday!
Great memories!

Little G Sleeping Plans

First I will start this post by saying I was the Mommy-to-Be that said the following:
~ I will put my baby in his crib from day one
~ He will NOT sleep in our room
~ I will not rock him to sleep
and all of my friends would say wait until he gets here it will all change.  Well it did and in a BIG way!  Grayson has not slept in his crib at night, yes he sleeps in our room, and yes we rock him to sleep.  So to all the mommies to be never say never.  That is one thing I have learned.  Just go with the flow and follow your heart.  With that being said at the beginning of the week Chad and I decided that it was time for Grayson to sleep in his crib at night.  So we purchased a few things this past weekend to help Grayson adjust to his crib and for me to sleep at ease.  I have a fear that he will roll over and stop breathing.
So on Monday we got everything setup and ready!  The only problem is the Angelcare system is beeping at us and when I read the direction it states that the sensor pad does not detect movement, but when I take Grayson out and forget to turn it off it goes off.  So I am a bit confused.  We did purchase the plywood board that they recommended, but still is beeping.  Do we need to do something else?  What I like so far about the Angelcare system is that it tells you the temperature of his room.  Which is really nice!  So we did start on Monday night and here is how it went, he slept from 8 to midnight in his crib.  I rocked him back to sleep and put him back in his crib, but an hour later he was up again.  I was so tired that I just brought him to our room.  This is how it went Tuesday and Wednesday night too.  Right now he is sleeping in our room because our little guy is sick.  If you follow me on Twitter you already know that I have been sick for the past two days and last night Grayson woke up with a fever and not feeling well.  He hasn't eaten normal today and both times I fed him tonight he has spit up about half of what he eat.  We hope that we both feel better tomorrow.  But we did have Chad home with us today to help take care of mommy and Grayson.  What a blessing!

We are ready for Grayson to sleep in his crib because of two reasons we don't want to create a habit (which we probably already have) and second I am leaving for LA next week and our friends the Ramsey's are coming to help Chad with Grayson.  It would be nice if he was at least sleeping in his room.  He does take naps in there, but we have always put him in our room.  It is just easier for me to roll over pick him up and nurse him if he wakes.  I plan on focusing on it this weekend and getting him to stay in his crib.  Any suggestions out there?  Would you let him cry it out?

Here are a few pictures of Grayson
