It is a HAPPY Monday!

Can you believe it today Grayson is 17 Weeks Old and this Friday he will be 4 Months Old.  Wow the past 4 Months have gone by so FAST!

Friday I will have a 4 Month Post Up!

Grayson loves his hands in his mouth!

Big News:
Today at Daycare Grayson slept for an hour and half.  We are so happy!  He fell asleep in the swing and since he doesn't sleep well there they just let him sleep.  Now if we could get him to sleep in his crib at Daycare!

Update on Sleeping in his Crib at Night:
This is going well!  He starts out in his crib, but when he wakes to eat I nurse him and I end up keeping him in our room.  I just need to start putting him back in his room, but I am so tired and all I want to do is go back to sleep.  He is napping well in his crib too!  I still swaddle him for his naps and bedtime.  I also place a receiving blanket that is rolled up on his side.  I think he likes sleeping on his side and I also think that he thinks that he is still be held when the blanket is on the side of him.  If it is not there he moves a lot and wakes up.  So for now this is what is working and I am happy.  We figured out the Angelcare system and all is working out well.  I have no worries this week when he is home being carried for by the Ramsey's.  I will MISS HIM SO MUCH!  I don't even want to think about it!  Thank you to all the mommy support over the past week.  It is wonderful to have such loving blog readers.  I want to give each of you a BIG HUG!

Fisher Friday

Over the past several years we spend our Friday nights with the Fisher's.  We first go out to dinner and then after dinner we play cards and have brownies.  Since we have had Grayson it is hard to play cards because he is young and we spend time playing with him instead.  Tonight I took a few fun pictures of the girls and Grayson with my iPhone with the Hipstamatic app that I just purchased.  They just love Grayson!  The Fisher girls always want to read to him, watch Baby Einstein with him, play with him, and love on him every time they see him.  They are so excited to see him every Friday!
Great memories!

Little G Sleeping Plans

First I will start this post by saying I was the Mommy-to-Be that said the following:
~ I will put my baby in his crib from day one
~ He will NOT sleep in our room
~ I will not rock him to sleep
and all of my friends would say wait until he gets here it will all change.  Well it did and in a BIG way!  Grayson has not slept in his crib at night, yes he sleeps in our room, and yes we rock him to sleep.  So to all the mommies to be never say never.  That is one thing I have learned.  Just go with the flow and follow your heart.  With that being said at the beginning of the week Chad and I decided that it was time for Grayson to sleep in his crib at night.  So we purchased a few things this past weekend to help Grayson adjust to his crib and for me to sleep at ease.  I have a fear that he will roll over and stop breathing.
So on Monday we got everything setup and ready!  The only problem is the Angelcare system is beeping at us and when I read the direction it states that the sensor pad does not detect movement, but when I take Grayson out and forget to turn it off it goes off.  So I am a bit confused.  We did purchase the plywood board that they recommended, but still is beeping.  Do we need to do something else?  What I like so far about the Angelcare system is that it tells you the temperature of his room.  Which is really nice!  So we did start on Monday night and here is how it went, he slept from 8 to midnight in his crib.  I rocked him back to sleep and put him back in his crib, but an hour later he was up again.  I was so tired that I just brought him to our room.  This is how it went Tuesday and Wednesday night too.  Right now he is sleeping in our room because our little guy is sick.  If you follow me on Twitter you already know that I have been sick for the past two days and last night Grayson woke up with a fever and not feeling well.  He hasn't eaten normal today and both times I fed him tonight he has spit up about half of what he eat.  We hope that we both feel better tomorrow.  But we did have Chad home with us today to help take care of mommy and Grayson.  What a blessing!

We are ready for Grayson to sleep in his crib because of two reasons we don't want to create a habit (which we probably already have) and second I am leaving for LA next week and our friends the Ramsey's are coming to help Chad with Grayson.  It would be nice if he was at least sleeping in his room.  He does take naps in there, but we have always put him in our room.  It is just easier for me to roll over pick him up and nurse him if he wakes.  I plan on focusing on it this weekend and getting him to stay in his crib.  Any suggestions out there?  Would you let him cry it out?

Grayson's Playroom

Over the past month or so we have been working on completing Grayson's playroom.  His playroom use to be our office and it is right off of the living room and kitchen area.  I really like what we did in this room and thought that I would share it with all of you.
Here are a few pictures of our Office before the changes...
and here are a few pictures of Grayson's New Playroom!
What we changed:
The paint color on all walls.  All walls are chocolate brown and one wall we painted orange!
New Baskets
New Rug
We removed a lot of accessories that are not kid friendly!
New toy bench for Grayson's toy! (I didn't get a picture of it)
We are also thinking of putting curtains on the glass doors.  What do you think we should do?
The baskets that are on the shelving unit are from Crate and Barrel, which can be found here and I have them filled with books, movies, and toys all for Grayson.
I still have my favorite Zebra Chairs in there for now.  In case you do ask I got them at IO Metro in Rogers, Arkansas.  The green rug is from there too!  However my sister Amie saw them online at Target.  So you could check there too!
Love the Monkey Picture of Grayson that my sister Amie took of him!  I thought it was perfect for his playroom!
All the remaining cubes I put pictures of Grayson and a few pictures of Chad, Bella, and I.  And on the top of the shelving unit I put pictures of our family!  I want to get more frames and updated pictures of our family and put them up there!

Grayson playing in his playroom for the 1st time!
So what do you think?

Grayson's Daycare Days

So if you follow my on Twitter you probably have an idea of how Daycare is going for us.  I haven't had time to do this post until now so sorry for the delay.  Thank you for your patience and thinking of us during our transition to daycare.
Our daycare is a great place in fact it is the only place I will put Grayson, however I still miss him so much when we are apart.  Last week on August 23rd, 2010 it was Grayson's 1st day at daycare.  He is in the dragonflies room and his teachers are Miss Melissa and Miss Traci.  We arrived a bit later than I anticipated but I had lunch plans so we went after lunch and he stayed until 4PM.  So how did I do?  Well I cried the entire time I was unpacking his things and I cried all the way to the office and for about an hour after that while I was pumping.  I did have a wonderful and supportive husband that joined me for the 1st day.  I think he wanted to make sure that I actually left and didn't just hang out all day at daycare.  Trust me I would have or I would have just went back and got him and went home.  When I went to go and get Grayson he looked worn out.  His eyes were red and I think he missed his mommy because when I went to put him in his seat he cried like I have never heard him before.  He didn't nap at all and as soon as I put him in his car seat he was out.  We got home I nursed him and he slept until 2AM.  Then he was up at 2AM, 4AM, and 6AM.  Boy was I worn out the next day.  Normally if Grayson stays home with me he takes a morning and an afternoon nap and then he will go to bed around 7 or 8PM and he will sleep through the night.  This is not the case on the days he goes to daycare.  So much for a routine...

Grayson's second day of daycare was on Thursday August, 26th 2010 he was only there for three hours as Chad picked him up around 3PM after arriving home from Canada.  Still no naps at daycare on that day and he was tired and slept again from 4PM until midnight and then he was up every two hours sleeping and eating.  It was a long night for me.  This week Grayson went to daycare on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Today.  He eats well, plays well, and doesn't cry too much (at least that is what they tell me), but again he will not nap.  On Tuesday he napped for 30 minutes the entire day, Wednesday 15 minutes, and today 30 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes in the afternoon.  Each time I go and pick him up they say he has a great day.  This does make me happy, but how is it a good day when he doesn't sleep?  Today when I picked him up I asked them if Grayson cries and his teacher said he fusses a bit, but then they move him to a different toy and he is content and happy.  I appreciate his teacher Miss Melissa for working with him on naps.  Next week we are going to try putting a wedge in his crib so he feels like someone is holding him and we are also going to put a white noise sound player next to his crib.  We really hope he will begin napping because getting three hours asleep each night is killing me this week.  Miss Melissa said that the other babies in his class are sleeping through the night because of daycare and Grayson is the complete opposite.  A couple of reasons I know why Grayson won't nap, first we swaddle him for naps and bed time and he cannot be swaddled at daycare, second he sleeps in a dark room for naps and bed time and has white noise playing at all times.  At daycare the room is bright and it is always noisy with babies and music playing.  So if Grayson would nap at daycare I would be a happy mommy because I hate coming home and not getting to spend any time with him.  I love that Grayson has a consist place to go to when needed and his teachers and the kids in his room are the same each and every day, but I would much rather keep Grayson at home with me.  So overall we have eased into going to daycare and hopefully in due time Grayson will adjust... not sure if I will!
Grayson's 1st day - see the name tag?  Grayson was the only one in class with a name tag so the next day he went to daycare I put a Grayson shirt on him.  Maybe they thought his name was too hard to remember.
This is how are nights are after Grayson has been at daycare all day.  He is worn out... bless his heart!

A special thanks to all of you who have sent me emails, facebook messages, or tweets checking in on us.  You are all sweet and I appreciate all the love and support.

Here are a few pictures I took this week of Grayson before daycare
