Pinterest Inspired Post

I LOVE LOVE PINTEREST!

In fact it is something I look on my iPhone before going to bed.  It has great ideas!

I got several nursery ideas on there, holiday ideas, hair style ideas that I recently did to my own hair, and a teacher gift for Grayson's teachers.

I thought I would share a few of the ideas I have found that you might be interested in doing yourself.

First teacher gifts

Grayson recently just moved up to a new classroom at school.  I always get his teacher a thank you gift for all that they do for Grayson.  His teachers in this classroom are VERY special to us.  They did so much for Grayson over the past several months.  Before this class Grayson would cry every time I dropped him off, but after just several weeks he was running to his teachers and giving them both HUGS.  This made my heart so HAPPY you have no idea!  They also got Grayson to nap at school.  Before he would NEVER nap.  They just got him to nap for close to 3 hours each day.  Which is a HUGE blessing because when we get home at night I have a happy boy that wants to play and interact with his parents vs sleeping.
Now we are starting over again in a new classroom... hoping and praying he adjusts well this week in his new class.  So far on his first day we have had tears... but I do anticipate this for a few days.
Anyways back to the gifts.
I made these for his teachers...
link on how to do this project is here!

we also got monogrammed coffee mugs for them too!

Second the top knot hairstyle

I usually wear my hair down most days, but I thought on one Friday that I would try something different.  I love this look that I found on Pinterest.  It doesn't look 100% like hers, but with practice and maybe longer hair I hope I can achieve this fun look.
Also if you get a free moment you should look around her blog she has some great ideas.  I love her blog!

happy pinning! You can follow me on pinterest by clicking here if you are interested.

Thoughts and Progress

{UPDATE the two items are GONE...that was quick, less than 10 minutes and both items are spoken for.  I am so glad they are going to be used again}

First I thought that I would share a video of Grayson walking.  He is 100% walking!  He will not crawl any where... he loves to be on his two feet!  He is busy and by the end of the day I am so tired!!!!

Two thoughts to share:

1.  The 12 Month Board we made of Grayson well I am ready to put it away and I thought before I throw it away I thought I would see if any readers would like to have it.  First person to leave me a comment with their email address I will send it to you.  Otherwise by the end of this week it will be going in the trash.

{the pictures will be removed before shipping}

2.  The scrapbook paper back drop that we made for Grayson's party I was going to throw it away too, but before I do I thought I would see if anyone wants it too.  So if any readers want this item please leave me a comment with your email address and I will get this mailed to you too.  It was not easy to make {at least in my opinion} and if I can save someone else the trouble I would love that!

{I am only referring to the scrapbook paper not the sign or the cookie in the picture}

Have a great afternoon!  It is beautiful here today!

{if you have trouble commenting please let me know.  I have had a few issues with people commenting on my blog, I hope this is not the case today}

DIY Projects

I am really not one to do DIY Projects, but the past few months I did two DIY Projects that I thought I would share with you.

The first project I got this idea from a blog I love to read.  She is always doing some great projects for her home and I loved this Chalkboard Frame Project she shared on her blog.  I ended up giving these frames as Christmas gifts.  It is super easy and if I can do it so can you.

You can get all the directions etc by clicking here

The second project is something that I remember doing with my Mom and sisters when I was younger and it is VERY easy to do.  It is a Fleece Tie Blanket.  Grayson has two of these blankets one from his Grandma Shelly and one from Auntie JJ.  I love how soft and snugly these blankets.  So I decided that I would make one of these blankets for a birthday gift for someone that loves Minnie Mouse.
here are the two blankets that Grayson has:

I bought the fabric at a local fabric store called Hancock Fabrics.  I actually went to Hobby Lobby first, but they did not have fleece at our store.  If you are making a small blanket for a child you only need to purchase 2 yards of two different fabrics.  If you decide to make an adult size blanket just buy 4 yards of two different fabrics.  The first step after picking and purchasing your fabric is laying the two fabrics down one on top of the other and making a perfect square.  This might mean that you have to cut some of the fabric.  After you finish making a perfect square next cut a smaller square on each corner of the blanket.  Go to 2 inches up and 2 inches over to make the square and do this on all four sides of the blanket.  Once complete with the smaller squares you will cut small strips in the blanket along all four sides of the blanket.  It will look like this before you tie them together:
on the far left of the picture you will see the strips and on the right side of the picture you will see where I tied the two fabrics together (double knot).  If you have any questions let me know.

 the final project!
Good Luck!
