Baseline Day

So today we started out the door at 6AM for a 2 hour drive to Tulsa for my 8:15AM appointment at the Tulsa Fertility Center. Today was my baseline ultrasound and blood work to confirm that I was in fact ready to begin a cycle of IVF. Our doctor confirmed that my ovaries look good no cysts to be seen. Which is a good sign! I just received the blood work results and the Estradiol and Progesterone levels look great. So we are moving forward... Yeah! I have mixed feelings... I am extremely excited that I might be pregnant in a few months, but on the over hand I am completely nervous next step is shots... I hate shots! I will keep you posted on how that goes for the next few days.

Thank you to all who continue to pray for us. You don't know how much it means to me to have so much support. Happy Thursday!

Don't worry about the shots...I promise when I say that they are not as mad as you imagine them to be. I use to rub a piece of ice on the spot where I needed to give myself the shot, then I would squeeze the area while I inserted the shot and it made it SO much easier!!! I would try that...also, my hubby helped me too. I inserted the shot and then he would help push the medication in....team work!!

Thanks for keeping us updated so I know when and how to pray for you.
I had to do shots once a month (a little different than what you are doing) but I had everyone from friends to co-workers to my parents give me the shots. ha! I got used to it.

Melissa, I had no idea you were going thru this trial in your life. I know that GOD has allready done what you have asked him to do. All you have to do is believe it and confess it daily. You will get the victory... and I fell that its going to be a triple portion of blessings. Your such a great person, you sow seeds daily in others lives and that is why your best is yet to come. Its all ready done, get the babies room ready.... God will not fail you. Stand strong on his WORD.

Same comments as others- the shots are not bad at all! I was scared of them, but they really do not hurt at all. After 2 rounds of them...I am 100% used to them. I hope after this frozen cycle, I will never have to use them again. Only God knows!

Starting IVF is so nerve wracking and so exciting too! As other commenters have said, the shots are no biggie! I am a bit of a chicken about giving them to myself, so that is my hubbys role and he loves it. GL!
